Pest control planned around your household

Whether you have noticed ants in the kitchen, spiders around entrances or signs of rodents, start by telling us what is happening and where. We discuss the property, pest activity and your concerns before recommending the next step.

Our residential service brings together pest-specific treatment, clear communication and practical prevention. We explain what is included, any preparation required and when you can use treated areas again. The aim is to make the appointment straightforward without treating every home as if it has the same problem.

Choose the right pest service for your home

Illustrative house spider

Spiders and crawling insects

Our general pest control service covers spiders and crawling insects within an agreed treatment scope. It may include relevant internal and external areas, with advice on entry points and conditions encouraging activity.

Cockroach on a pale surface

Ant and cockroach problems

Recurring activity in cupboards, kitchens or bathrooms needs assessment. Tell us how often you see insects and where they appear. Some infestations need dedicated treatment or follow-up rather than a standard general pest service.

Rodent close-up

Rats and mice

Rodent services are quoted separately from general pest treatment. We assess the evidence, access routes and suitable control or monitoring options, and discuss food storage, waste and building conditions that may need attention.

Cat scratching outdoors

Fleas

Flea concerns need a coordinated plan for the property and its use. Tell us about affected rooms and pets before booking. We explain the treatment preparation and any complementary actions needed to support the result.

Bed bugs on a mattress

Bed bugs

Suspected bed bugs need identification and a dedicated assessment. Describe the affected rooms and what you have seen. Treatment, room preparation and follow-up are planned for the infestation and property.

Illustrative termites in damaged timber

Termite concerns

Termite inspections are separate from routine household pest treatment. If you have found suspicious timber damage or mud-like material, arrange an assessment. Explore termite inspections for the inspection scope, reporting and next steps.

Support for different residential properties

Owner-occupied homes

We discuss the affected rooms, outdoor areas and household routine, then explain the proposed work. Tell us about upcoming events, restricted spaces or concerns that could affect preparation or access.

Rental homes and property managers

Let us know who is arranging the service, who can approve the work and how access will be provided. We can discuss findings and service information with the agreed contact. Responsibility for payment should be clarified before booking.

Units and shared properties

Activity may involve an individual unit, common areas or neighbouring spaces. Tell us about shared access and any strata or property-management arrangements so the treatment boundary and required permissions are clear.

Lifestyle properties and outbuildings

Households with sheds, storage spaces and larger outdoor areas may need a broader assessment. Identify the buildings and areas you want considered; treatment of every structure is not automatically included in a house quote.

Children, pets and sensitive areas

We want to understand your household before treatment is arranged. Tell us about children, pets, aquariums, ponds, food areas and any concerns you want discussed. Product selection, application and access instructions depend on the service and conditions.

We provide treatment-specific preparation and re-entry directions. Follow these for people and animals, and ask if anything is unclear. No pesticide treatment should be described as universally risk-free or suitable for every household without assessment.

For guidance on selecting a licensed operator and discussing precautions, see the Victorian Government's advice on pest control services.

What happens before, during and after your appointment?

Before: explain the problem and prepare

Give us your suburb, property type, affected areas and pest sightings. We discuss the service, quote and access. Follow the preparation instructions supplied for your appointment rather than moving or covering items based on guesswork.

During: assessment and agreed treatment

We assess relevant accessible areas and discuss the findings. Treatment follows the agreed scope, site conditions and product directions. If further work is needed, we explain the options before changing the service.

After: know what to expect

You receive service information and aftercare advice, including relevant cleaning and access instructions. We discuss practical prevention measures and how to report continuing activity. Follow-up depends on the pest and agreed service terms.

Everyday steps that support pest management

Household routines and building conditions can influence recurring activity. Depending on the pest, recommendations may include improving food and waste storage, addressing moisture, reducing clutter or repairing entry points.

The right priorities depend on the assessment. We explain which actions are relevant to your property and which are the responsibility of the owner, occupier or other contractor. Treatment cannot replace every maintenance or housekeeping measure.

Why choose SureGuard for your home?

Clear scope and honest advice

We explain the service recommended for your pest problem and why. If an issue needs a specialist treatment rather than a general pest service, we say so. Pricing and applicable follow-up terms are discussed before work begins.

Residential pest control FAQs

How much does pest control for a home cost?

The quote depends on the pest, property size, affected areas, access, activity and treatment needed. Tell us about the house and any outbuildings so we can discuss an appropriate scope. Separate pest services may have separate quotes.

Is general pest control the same as residential pest control?

Residential describes the property and customer setting. General pest control is one service for spiders and crawling insects. A household may instead need a separately scoped rodent, flea, bed bug or termite service.

Can you work with my landlord or property manager?

We can discuss arrangements with the agreed contact. Confirm who can approve the work, who is responsible for payment and how access will be provided. We do not determine tenancy responsibilities on this page.

Can my pets stay at home during treatment?

That depends on the treatment and the areas being used. Tell us about all pets and animal enclosures before booking. Follow the preparation and access directions for the service; do not assume a previous treatment's instructions apply.

How often should a home be treated?

There is no single treatment schedule suitable for every home. Frequency depends on pest activity, the building, surrounding conditions and results. We discuss repeat treatment only where appropriate to the assessed need.

Does a household pest treatment include termite protection?

No. Routine general pest treatment is not a termite inspection or termite management system. Tell us separately about termite concerns so the appropriate assessment can be arranged.
